Panelist - Alexander "Hap" Ellis III
General Partner, RockPort Capital

Hap has been a General Partner in RockPort Capital since its inception. He has primarily focused on renewables, electric grid technologies, advanced materials, and transportation and emission control technologies. Prior to the formation of RockPort’s first fund, he joined RockPort Partners, a merchant bank specializing in the energy and environmental projects in 1998. He has extensive operating experience in electric power and renewable energy. Prior to joining RockPort Partners, he was a partner in several electric power development companies, developing over 1100MW of combined-cycle gas-fired electric generating stations. Before that, Hap was at Kenetech Corporation from 1991-1995, a leading wind turbine and development company. Hap serves on the Boards of Directors of Catalytic Solutions, Inc., Powerspan Corp., Southwest Windpower, ISE Corp., Deerpath Energy, Eka Systems, Second Rotation and Northern Power Systems. In addition he represented RockPort on the board of Comverge Inc. (NASDAQ:COMV). Hap received a BA from Colorado College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
