Panelist - Thomas M. Casey

Blockbuster Inc.

Tom Casey is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Blockbuster Inc. where he is responsible for Finance & Accounting, including Strategic Planning, Treasury and Investor Relations, as well as Internal Audit. He joined the company in September of 2007. Casey brings more than 20 years experience in the finance and banking industry to Blockbuster and has been instrumental in helping some of the world’s largest companies successfully formulate their financial and strategic business plans for the future.

He was most recently a managing director for Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc., where he was responsible for the bank’s retail industry relationships in North America and served as a strategic financial advisor to some of the world’s largest companies in the retail entertainment, food and drug, convenience store, food wholesale and foodservice industries.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank Securities, Casey was Director, Global Retail Group for Citigroup Inc., leading coverage for such clients as Barneys, JC Penney, 7-Eleven, Michaels Stores, Saks Fifth Avenue, TAG Heuer and Zale Corporation. He has also held investment banking positions with Merrill Lynch and Dillon Read & Co.

Casey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy where he also earned a varsity letter on the Heavyweight Crew team. Upon graduation from the Naval Academy, he served as a Lieutenant on the USS Ulysses S. Grant, where he was responsible for the operation of a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine and its nuclear propulsion systems.

After fulfilling his military commitment, Casey earned his Masters of Business Administration with specialization in Finance from Harvard Business School.
