Dan is the CEO and Founder of Vestar Capital Partners, a private investment firm managing over $7 billion of equity capital. Founded in 1988, Vestar has been the lead investor in over 65 companies across a broad range of industries in both the U.S. and Europe. Vestar is headquartered in New York with offices in Denver, Boston, Paris, Milan and Munich.

Prior to founding Vestar, Dan was a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Management Buyout Group at The First Boston Corporation. Dan has been a director of over 35 companies through his Vestar and First Boston investments.

Born and raised in The Bronx, N.Y., Dan is a graduate of Brown University and the Yale School of Management. Currently residing in Greenwich, CT, Dan is a Trustee Emeritus of Brown University and a Board Member of the Cardinal Spellman High School Foundation.
