Josh Bekenstein is a Managing Director of Bain Capital LLC, a leading global private investment firm based in Boston. Mr. Bekenstein helped start Bain Capital in 1984 with a number of colleagues from Bain & Company, the management consulting firm. Since then, Bain Capital has grown to over 500 people and has made private equity investments and add-ons in over 300 companies across a variety of industries. In addition, the firm has expanded into several other asset classes and currently manages several pools of capital including private equity, high-yield assets, mezzanine capital and public equity. The firm now has approximately $50 billion in assets under management.

Mr. Bekenstein serves as a board member of several corporations, including Bombardier Recreational Products, Waters Corporation, Dollarama, Toys R Us, Burlington Coat Factory, Michaels Stores and Bright Horizons Family Solutions, as well as many community and educational organizations, such as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Horizons For Homeless Children, New Profit Inc., City Year, New Leaders for New Schools, the Yale University President’s Council and the Yale Corporation Investment Committee. Mr. Bekenstein holds a B.A. from Yale and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. He lives in Wayland, MA with his wife and five children between the ages of eleven and nineteen.
