Mr. Anquillare is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Winchester Capital, the private transatlantic investment bank based in New Haven, CT and London. Winchester Capital specialises in global private equity and international merger and acquisition transactions. Winchester was founded in 1986 by Mr. Anquillare and the family investment office of the late Hon Averell Harriman, a partner of Brown Brothers Harriman. Upon the appointment of the Hon Pamela Harriman as US Ambassador to France in 1995, Mr. Anquillare acquired the firm together with his London colleagues. Winchester subsequently entered into a Global Co-Investment Agreement with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, where Mr. Anquillare also served as Adviser for private equity and technology based investments.

In 2004, Winchester Capital completed its first secondary transaction with the successful acquisition of Atlantic Medical in conjunction with Nova Capital Limited. More recently, in 2005 Winchester initiated, advised and successfully completed the acquisition of the Dresdner IRU Private Equity portfolio in behalf of its Client, AIG, for a total value of US$1.4bn. This transaction, representing one of the largest secondary transactions in history, included approximately 155 limited partnerships and due diligence on 1200 underlying companies.

Mr. Anquillare, a sixth generation native of New Haven, Connecticut, holds a bachelor's in political science (Georgetown University and Fairfield University). He undertook further post graduate studies in law at the University of London. Mr. Anquillare has been appointed Connecticut’s Honourary Ambassador to the United Kingdom and European Union and serves as a Justice of the Peace. Mr. Anquillare also has served as an adviser to the U.S. Agency for International Development during the administrations of the late President Ronald Reagan and former President George H. W. Bush.
