Alex Shahidi is a certified public accountant with 15 years of experience, 11 of which
are in transactions. He has been with the Transaction Advisory Services group at Ernst &
Young for over eight years. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Alex was the Director of
Corporate Development for a private company, a member of the audit and corporate finance
practices of another Big Four accounting firm, and an economist at an economic consulting
firm.
Alex has led due diligence engagements of companies in various industries, including
automotive (OEM and aftermarket suppliers), general manufacturing, distribution,
restaurants, technology, media and entertainment (broadcast television stations and talent
agencies), for-profit education businesses (charter schools and post-secondary vocational
training schools), and financial services. Alex has extensive experience in carve-out
transactions, cross-border transactions and evaluating stand-alone costs.
Alex earned his BA in economics from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance and
Accounting from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. Alex is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is Chair-Elect on the Board
of Directors of the American Lung Association’s New Jersey chapter.
