Mr. Fontana is the Utilities Industry Leader for Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services practice. He has over 20 years of corporate finance and transaction experience of which the last 15 years have been focused on power generation and the utility industry. He has led transactions for leading energy companies and some of the largest private equity investors in a number of sectors including electric and gas utilities, independent power producers, electric and gas marketing companies, gas pipelines, LNG plant construction projects, gas storage, and T&D outsourcing.

Joe has previously served as the Chief Accounting Officer and controller for the Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO) and Keyspan Energy where he actively participated in the negotiation and sale of the transmission and distribution system to the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) and the merger of the gas and generation business with Keyspan Energy.

Joe received a B.A. in Accounting from West Chester University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
