Biography
Roger Ibbotson is Professor in the Practice of Finance at Yale School of Management. He is also Chairman of Ibbotson Associates in Chicago, New York, and Tokyo, which provides investment and asset allocation consulting, software, data, publishing, and advice to the financial services industry. Professor Ibbotson conducts research on a broad range of financial topics, including investment returns, mutual funds, international markets, portfolio management, and valuation. He is a regular contributor and editorial board member to both trade and academic journals. He is the recipient of many awards including the Graham and Dodd Schrolls in 1979, 1982, 1984, 2001 and 2004 and AIMR’s James R. Vertin award in 2001. Professor Ibbotson has served as a consultant to many companies in the financial and investment industries. He serves as a Partner at Zebra Capital Management, a hedge fund manager, and on numerous boards including Dimensional Fund Advisors’ funds. He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Purdue University, his MBA from Indiana University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, where he taught for more than ten years and served as Executive Director of the Center for Research in Security Prices.
