Biography
Michael Psaros Founder and Managing Principal KPS Special Situations Funds Mr. Psaros is a Founding Partner and Managing Principal of KPS Special Situations Funds, (www.kpsfund.com), a family of control-oriented private equity funds focused on constructive investing in restructurings, turnarounds, and other special situations. KPS creates value for its Limited Partners by turning around the operations of distressed and underperforming businesses. Operating turnarounds are accompanied by financial restructurings, either in or out of bankruptcy, that result in a material reduction of debt and other liabilities. KPS has created new companies to purchase operating assets out of bankruptcy; established stand-alone entities to operate divested assets; and recapitalized highly-leveraged public and private companies. Mr. Psaros currently serves on the Board of Directors of Blue Ridge Paper Products Inc., Blue Heron Paper Company, Genesis Worldwide II, Inc., Wire Rope Corporation of America, and AmeriCast Technologies Inc. He is a frequent speaker on restructuring, turnaround, and bankruptcy-related investing. Mr. Psaros received a BSBA from Georgetown University and attended Sofia University in Tokyo, Japan.
