Frederick Terrell
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Terrell is Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Provender Capital Group and Provender Opportunities Fund, a private equity investment firm based in New York City. On behalf of major public and private institutional investors, Provender invests in emerging and established companies seeking capital for growth and expansion. The firm focuses its energies in the areas of financial services and consumer and retail products. In addition to the management of the firm, in each of these investment areas, Fred has been active in the structuring, negotiation and management of various portfolio investments.

Prior to founding Provender in 1997, Mr. Terrell was a Managing Director and Partner with Credit Suisse First Boston, where he focused primarily on investment banking activities within the financial institutions and capital markets areas during the course of a 14-year career. In these capacities, Mr. Terrell led and was directly involved in providing liquidity for the firm and its clients, major financial institutions and specialty finance companies, who were among the industry’s leaders in the origination mortgage, small business and consumer assets. During his tenure at Credit Suisse First Boston, Mr. Terrell’s innovative work won him recognition both from his colleagues inside the firm and within the broader investment banking community including selection as a “Deal of the Year” in 1985 and 1993.

Mr. Terrell serves on the boards of New York Life Insurance Company, Wellchoice and Carver Bancorp, where he serves as Chairman. He is also active on the boards of companies that are Provender portfolio investments. He also serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of the Yale School of Management and gave the commencement address in 2002. He is former Chairman and current board member of the Coro Foundation, a national leadership training institute. He is also active in numerous civic and community organizations including The Harlem Little League and Safe Haven Basketball League. Mr. Terrell earned his B.A. degree from LaVerne College, his M.A. degree from Occidental College and his M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.
