Mr. Kilpatrick represents clients in acquisitions and divestitures, leveraged buy-outs, equity investments, corporate governance and general corporate matters. He has worked in many industries including banking, power, biotechnology, chemicals, manufacturing and consumer products. He has represented clients in both private and public acquisitions including work in both friendly and unfriendly public transactions and has worked with clients in purchasing businesses out of bankruptcy.

Mr. Kilpatrick rejoined the Firm in 2001 after an eight-year period during which he served as a Managing Director of D. George Harris & Associates, a private equity firm that specializes in leveraged buy-outs. His work at DGHA included both legal and business matters. DGHA completed over 30 acquisitions in seven countries on three continents. Mr. Kilpatrick supervised numerous debt financings and equity investments in connection with the DGHA companies and provided general corporate advice on non-transactional matters. On realized investments, DGHA returned over $670 million to its investors, for a net annual rate of return of over 45%.

Since his return to the Firm, Mr. Kilpatrick continues to advise DGHA on transactional and other legal matters for its existing and new investments. He works with numerous other clients on private and public acquisitions and he continues to work with private equity clients. He also advises clients on corporate governance issues including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Mr. Kilpatrick is the co-head of the firm's Mergers and Acquisition practice team.

Mr. Kilpatrick received a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. from Yale University.
