Austin Westerling is a Partner of Charles River Ventures. Founded in 1970, Charles River Ventures is one of the oldest and most successful venture capital firms. Companies like Cascade, CIENA, Chipcom, NetGenesis, Parametric Technology, Sonus, Speechworks, Stratus Computer, Sybase, Vignette and dozens more have gone from idea to reality with the financial, managerial and visionary backing of CRV. The firm's investment returns are consistently among the highest of venture capital firms, giving it one of the best track records in the industry.
Mr. Westerling focuses on enterprise software & services and Internet security investments while working with current CRV portfolio companies on their strategic development. Prior to CRV, Mr. Westerling was an Associate with The Boston Consulting Group in the Chicago office. While at BCG, Mr. Westerling worked on a variety of initiatives including the launch of a major product for a high-tech manufacturer, the strategic re-positioning of a multi-billion dollar consumer products firm, the design of e-commerce strategies for major companies in financial services and the implementation of a broad supply chain management strategy for a global retailer.
Mr. Westerling is a director at Trusted Network Technologies and Secure Software. He also has experience with Analysis Group Economics/Integral, Inc. and the New England Consulting Group. Mr. Westerling holds a double B.A. with distinction in Psychology and Economics from Yale University.
