Biography
Adam Blumenthal serves as First Deputy Comptroller/Chief Financial Officer for New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. In this capacity he oversees the capital markets activities of the Comptroller's office, which include management of the assets of the City's five pension funds (which have $82 billion in assets), issuance of budget, financial, and economic analysis, and oversight of the City's debt issuance program. Prior to working for the Comptroller, Mr. Blumenthal held a number of positions, including Chief Financial Officer, President and Vice Chairman, at American Capital Strategies, a $2 billion publicly traded company which specialized in mezzanine and equity finance for middle market companies. He has served on the boards of numerous companies. Adam received a BA magna cum laude from Harvard College, and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
